Report a Park Problem
Call 911 in an emergency. Users of Penny’s Memorial Dog Park do so at their own risk. The City of Lewiston is not liable for any injury or damages sustained at Penny’s Memorial Dog Park. Dog owners are legally responsible for their dog's actions and are liable for any injuries caused by their dog.
WHAT TO DO IN CASE OF AN INJURY
In the event that you or your dogs are hurt by another dog or individuals, you should:
- Call 911 if there is a serious life-threatening injury to a human.
- Seek medical attention immediately. If your dog has been injured it is important to have your dog checked by a veterinarian as soon as possible. Often it can seem like a dog is not injured during a conflict/scuffle, but the contact between dogs can lead to a serious infection that is not visible.
- Exchange contact info. with the other dog handler and collect contact info. from any witnesses. Take photos of handlers and dogs involved if it is safe to do that. Recording license plate info. could be helpful.
- Report the incident to the Lewiston Police and Animal Control at 208-746-0171 It is important to make this report because if this dog or dog handler has been involved in multiple incidents a report could prevent future injuries.
If you’ve noticed maintenance problems at the park (downed trees, fencing, gates, bag dispensers, etc.) please contact Brandon “Beeg” Johnson at the Lewiston Parks and Recreation Admin offices at 208-746-2313 or submit the problem via the contact form on this page.
